The
Gunnell Rod suits most Medium to Large overhead and Electric Reels. We ALWAYS
recommend that you utilise a backing plate for extra security. 2 speed reels
are our choice but not essential.
The cleaning process is very simple. Just wash in warm soapy water then rinse with
fresh cold water.
Protective sprays such as Inox or Mako oil can be used to keep her nice and shiny!
Remember to rinse your reel also.
The GRV2 is made of 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel. We also use recycled Steel to
do our little bit for the environment. The reel seat is Aluminium.
The Gunnell Rod suits any angle rod holder
(0,15,30 degrees) because of the knuckle joint. Some rod holders may have
sleeves that can make it a tight squeeze! The GRV2 must have a Gimbal Pin in
the rod holder for it to lock into.
The GRV2 is designed for Salt Water fishing. It’s great for:
*Reef fishing
*Deep Dropping 150m+
*Trolling for pelagics
*Teasers for Marlin/Sailfish
*Downrigger
Everyone can use one!! It’s perfect for those that need a little extra help due to:
Injuries
Lack of Strength
Experienced disability
Beating the Bloody Sharks
Young and Young at Heart
The Gunnell Rod has been funded by the NDIS to approved participants.
There are a few ways to angle and we are still learning from Gunnslingers as they
share their secrets.
1-Handline with about 1m of line, when the fish bites strike hard and start
winding fast. We normally fish with the opposite hand of where the handle is
Eg- strike with my left hand and wind with the right.
2-Drop your bait to the bottom and just watch the rod tip and eyelet. You will
see the line guide arm load up with weight when the hook is set! Now all you
have to do is just wind, wind, wind!
That’s an easy one! Just fold your Gunnell Rod in half and it ticks away nicely.
Yes you can. The is a quick release pin that locks off in 3 positions. This allows the Angler to do everything one handed or use it for trolling, downrigging etc.
There is a Lanyard hole on the back of the Gunnell Rod big enough for a D-Shackle or Carabiner to attach it to something secure.
The Gunnell Rod may show small signs of wear and tear but shouldn’t rust due to the
316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel. Correct maintenance and cleaning to remove salt is most important.

Each participant must contact their team to go through the approval process. As you know the NDIS is all about Choice and Control of your funding if you are self and partly self managed.
The Gunnell Rod has a 12 month limited warranty for Faults. We don’t refund just because you’ve changed your mind! For full details heck our T&Cs.
We have always liked Braid at 80lbs or more.
This is a personal decision based on your style of fishing and what your target
species is.
The Gunnell Rod now has a Knuckle Joint that moves at 5 degree increments so it doesn’t matter what rod holder angle you have!
